NaNoWriMo Last 100 words – day 11

Getting closer to the weekend, but today was too busy to get much writing done. But the story continues to grow at least a little at a time.

Dhala enjoyed the warm sun on his bare back. The previous night had been another that left frost on the upper ridges close to the village and Dhala thought it looked to be a thin coating of light snow in the higher peaks. But the day had warmed quickly and by the time he was working in the portion of the communal garden assigned to his family.

While he worked he kept an eye on Jua. The fledgling had stayed with them. Dhala thought he could sense relief from other families that they would not be asked to house the orphan. It had been subtle, but he’d noticed some families avoided Jua. Worse, the child seemed to understand that he was being shunned, and through no fault of his own.

I also want to let everyone know that Double Trouble is going to be on hold until after NaNoWriMo ends. Afterwards, we’ll be back to seeing what the little dickens Danny is up to now.
