NaNoWriMo Last 100 words – day 4

So I was thinking of ways to share the fun of writing a novel taking advantage of NaNoWriMo. I thought it might be fun to share the last 100 words I wrote today. I can’t guarantee i’ll manage every day, but I’ll give it a shot. This is from chapter 2 of Aerie

Machi ground his teeth as he glared at Askari. But the torrent of words he expected never came. He walked to the opening and stood looking across the valley, so large that the far rim blurred with the blue-gray haze of distance. Askari gave him time to think but eventually walked to the opening and leaned against the wall.

“He would come back. Even now. You just need to ask.”

They stood quietly as the wind twisted around their bodies, sending the ends of their breechcloths appearing to have a life of their own. When he thought Machi would keep his silence he began to speak.
